Area dance artists were honored when the Cicely Tyson Community School hosted a program to benefit summer programs at several regional dance conservatories. The show was called: "Legends in Our Community."

Three dance artists were honored:
• Sharron Miller: founder and artistic director of the Sharron Miller Academy for the Performing Arts.
• Kamille King: a 2004 Tyson graduate. King now is a dancer and dance educator.
• Adam Rogers: a 2005 Tyson graduate. Rogers now is a dancer with the Kansas City Ballet.

Proceeds will fund scholarships for students to attend summer programs operated through the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Seiskaya Ballet, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.
