Seton Hall Prep School

East Orange Campus High

Ms Jacqueline Saez, Band
Parent President, also coaches the Band's dancers and has them
out working on some new dance patterns when I arrive at Cicely
Tyson School.
Meanwhile, Assistant Drum Major Lloyd
Tomlinson teaches Drum Major Mascot Naji
Cherry some of the special moves the
Drum Majors will be using in the Half-Time show.
Everyone has something to work on
to get ready for the game, even the youngest Acrobat Mascots
(l-r) Miriah Tomlinson and Tyla
Davis, who are well dressed for the
cold weather. It will be chilly football weather today!
Inside the school building, the
rest of the band is getting into uniforms and then tuning up
their instruments under the direction of Assistant Drum Major Allan
Theodore.
All too soon it is time to line
up for the march across East Orange to Paul Robeson Stadium
Everyone plays an important role, from Band Parent Association
members, to mascots, dancers, flag twirlers, instrumentalists and
even the police escort which gets them safely from the school to
the stadium.
Looking more and more like a
Unified Marching Band, they attract a crowd of East Orange
spectators as they march across town and turn into the parking
lot at Paul Robeson Stadium, which is the whole idea! No sleeping
late this Saturday, East Orange! Get up and come out to the game!
Drum Major Mascot Naji
Cherry gives a hand salute as the band
plays The National Anthem behind him just before the start of the
football game.
The Jaguar Cheerleaders are
wearing Halloween masks for the occasion, and get into formation
to lead the cheering for their favorite football team.
Center foreground, Mr.
Goode (in red) and Mayor
Bowser of East Orange discuss the band
while watching the half-time performance.
Final Score: East Orange
Campus High 23- Seton Hall Prep School 35
Even though East Orange
did not win the last two games of this season, they won enough
games to be included in the play-offs, so there will be some more
football games for both the football team and the band before
Thanksgiving.
