The East Orange Unified Band is walking over to
the Campus High School gym. They have to walk on the sidewalk
because they had no police escort for a parade in the street. Ms
Saez and the band parents had to stand in the middle of the
street and block traffic whenever the Band came to an
intersection.

Once the East Orange Band got in the parking lot
of Campus High School, they got into their positions and started
to play as they marched toward the gym.

The band is in front of the doors and waiting to
march into the gym. Check out the Grand Entrance on the video
below.
Mayor Robert L. Bowser symbolically tossed up
the ball to start the game. Left is the captain of the Scotties
and on the right is the captain of the Panthers.

Since we are not here to cover the basketball
game, but the Marching Band's participation in it, we will let
you go to the Alumni Web sites to find out more about what
happened in the basketball game. You will also be able to see
more photos of the basketball players. For now, Mr. Goode has
struck up the band and we will go to the Video to see and hear
what is going on.
At the end, the flag twirlers swung their flags
around their heads making a grand finale. Then the band marched
out of the gym.

Right after the half time show, the band went
outside and got ready for the long walk back to Cicely Tyson
School.

After the walk back to the school, everyone was
happy that they did a good job. They were also happy that the
game was over and that they could add another happy event to
their Fall 2009 band memories. One more to go! Join us at Giant
Stadium, December 5, 2009.
